Showing Friday 1 March – Tuesday 4 June 2019
Walking Pace is an exhibition of paintings by Dore Stockhausen that are the result of her two week residency at Cradle Mountain National Park during June 2018. She spent her time here exploring the unique surroundings by foot to absorb herself in the colours, patterns, and forms found within both the natural and the man-made. The paintings that came out of this process are not a portrayal of the actual landscape, but an engagement with its mystery. Dore wishes for the viewer to look more observantly at the world around them to see the beauty in the natural and the fabricated environments.
