Exhibition: Dark Island Light
Claire Walsh is a Hobart born photographer who now has the pleasure of calling Cradle Mountain home. Here she witnesses the changing of the seasons and the moods of the land that create both hardship and joy. Through her photographic practice Walsh seeks to capture the balances between these light and dark elements that surreptitiously determine life in ways we are unable to control.
A self-taught creative, Walsh developed a passion for wilderness as a youth, bushwalking with her family throughout Tasmania and has developed her photography over time spent both at Cradle Mountain and through her traveling journeys.
