Annual Exhibition Call Out 2019
With one week to go until submissions close for our 2019 Exhibition Call Out, while you are busy collating and sending in your applications, let me tell you a little bit more about what makes exhibiting at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery so unique.
Here artists get chance to exhibit and engage with Tasmania’s primary tourist destination in what is a beautiful 12 room gallery space. Our visitors come from every corner of the globe and with more than 230 000 people traveling to Cradle Mountain each year, our aim is to continue to encourage more visitors to experience Tasmanian art, craft and design.
The Exhibition Program has been developed with consideration to the remote location of the Gallery and the range of visitors to the space. It is our aim to present a diverse range of exhibitions by both emerging and established artists, to encourage new ideas and new ways of working, and to provide an authentic and engaging experience for all visitors to the Gallery. It is important to note that Artist’s are required to self-manage the exhibition process, including installation, with exhibitions running for up to four months. There is no hire fee and there are a number of spaces available that can accommodate 2D and 3D work, as well as video installations, performance and outdoor sculptures including the bush garden in the center of the gallery.
The Gallery is open to the public, seven-days-a-week from 9am-5pm.
We encourage all Tasmanian artists who are either, currently living in Tasmania, or who have proven an extensive link to the State, to apply in response to the themes of Wilderness, Environment and Place. Submissions must be received by COB next Friday, the 11 May by emailing to the Exhibition Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to receiving your application!
